Simplified, carbon's main advantage is that it is one of the worst materials as an RF antenna. A major problem in cable design is the suppression of RF interference, which introduces a lot of noise into the overall system, especially with negative feedback amplifiers. Since the mains cables typically lies on the floor, the problem is much greater, as the boundary surfaces are the most RF stressed zones.
Cable supports may reduce this problem to some extent, but CarbonWire virtually eliminates it. The lower specific conductivity of carbon is compensated by several ways.
